Goals galore in Sunday spectacular

Sunday saw Ruthwell Rovers pick up a good win at Dumfries Athletic, despite going behind to an early Andy Linden goal. Jon Muir and an Own goal sent Ruthwell in ahead, but Andy Linden levelled the match, Ruthwell were not to be denied though as Jack Ball pounced to give them all three points. Annan Town also recorded a good win which saw them catapult to fourth. Callum Lawrie, Sean Dunbar and Liam Grimley were the scorers in a 3-2 win over Morton Thistle. Five Arches Bombers went back to second with victory over Normandy Star, A brace apiece for Graeme Maxwell and Chris Ross as well as a Dayne Moore goal had them cruising, with Ben Gillon grabbing what was scant consolation for Star. Terregles though extended their lead to 11 points in a ruthless display against FC Annan. Paul McCann and Eddie Marshall both grabbed hat-tricks, with Dougie Brotherston and and Gary White hitting doubles. Greg Walls, Matty Gibson, Cammy Sinclair, Gary Ferguson, John Howie, Sandy Kennedy and Sean Kirk meant Terregles had 11 different scorers, though FC Annan did manage to spoil the clean sheet. Palmerston Colts travelled to Scaur for a cup tie after last weeks postponement, and in a tight match it was the visitors who squeaked through thanks to doubles from Darren Watson and Aaron Callendar as well as Ross Kerr strike. Robert McCormack netted three times for the home side.
