All clubs should have received guidance from the SYFA on standard suspensions - players receiving a red card should serve their suspensions straight away - missing the next game and any additional games dependant on the nature of the offence:
SENDING OFF OFFENCE | SUSPENSION |
Two Yellows in same game | ONE Match |
Denying obvious goalscoring opportunity | ONE Match |
Offensive, Insulting or abusive Language | ONE Match |
Serious Foul Play | TWO Matches |
Violent Conduct | TWO Matches |
Biting or Spitting | FOUR Matches |
While the disciplinary secretary will endeavour to advise clubs of suspensions as soon as possible, the timing of receiving teamlines and process of sending out the notification may take a week or two and it remains the responsibility of the club to ensure players are not playing while they should be serving a suspension.
In addition to the matches suspension a fine of £20 will be levied for each offence, and should be paid as soon as possible.
The SYFA Disciplinary guidelines can be found in the documents section of this website.
