Updated: Oct 27
All clubs should have received guidance from the SYFA on standard suspensions - players receiving a red card should serve their suspensions straight away - missing the next game and any additional games dependant on the nature of the offence:
SENDING OFF OFFENCE | SUSPENSION |
Two Yellows in same game | ONE Match |
Denying obvious goalscoring opportunity | ONE Match |
Offensive, Insulting or abusive Language | TWO MATCHES |
Serious Foul Play | TWO Matches |
Violent Conduct | THREE Matches |
Biting or Spitting | FOUR Matches |
Suspensions will be applied automatically on Comet - once the referee has entered and marked the match as played. Clubs should be aware of players who should be suspended and raise the matter asap if the match has not been closed off. Suspensions will also only be recorded as served on Comet when games are closed off so Clubs should make sure these have been done and contact the disciplinary secretary in the event of any issues.
In addition to the matches suspension a fine of £20 will be levied for each offence, and should be paid as soon as possible.
The SYFA Disciplinary guidelines can be found in the documents section of this website.
