A near full fixture list took place on sunday with star billing going to the top of the premiership clash Hole in Wa v Annan Town and it was a cracker of a game. Wa opened up the better team but had a penalty saved in the opening minutes. This spurred Annan Town into action and they gradually took control and took the lead through ben Savage who evaded 4 challenges before scoring from distance the lead was then extended when a looping John Quinn cross sailed into the net to give Annan Town a deserved half time lead. Annan then scored in 55 minutes when a great jinking run and cross was expertly finished off by Brian Mattinson. Wa finally started to fire and Dale Talaszko had a good header that the keeper could only get a hand to which gave Wa some belief they could get back into the game. Terry Jardine then won a race for the ball to make it 3-2, Liam Grimley then gave Annan a 4-2 lead on 87 minutes with a good header. Dale Talaszko then got his second to set up a grandstand finish. Wa then struck with virtually the last kick of the game when Bruce McQuarrie struck from a half cleared corner to finish the game 4-4. Five Arches on the face of it had a solid 6-0 win against Loreburn but Loreburn didnt help themselves with a crazy moment whic put tem down to 10 men and made it very hard for temselves thereafter. Ross, Bradbury, Coles, Jamieson and Rice with 2 goals completed the scoring. Scaur and Jolly played a hard competitve game up at Penpont in a tight half it was good play between Kris Clark and Ally Baird that lead to Baird opening the scoring with a header. Sean Peat then struck for Jolly after Scaur keeper had made a good save but almost straight away Sandy Bowie scored for Scaur, the game was not tight again and it took a free kick from Kris Clark to giev Jolly breathing space before Kyle Muirhead struck from 40 yards to make sure of the win for the Dumfries side. In the Metrik First Division Terregles will be delighted with a good away win at Clarencefield winning well. Tommy Goss and David Marshall both scored doubles for Terregles as well as a strike from Jordan Jones, with 2 minutes to go Jamie Robson scored a consolation for the hosts. Normandy are chasing behind and won emphatically when Summerhill visited winning 10-0. John Howie and Dylan Irvine both with hat-tricks, Jordan Patterson with a double and strikes also from Kris Shannon and Paul McCann. Youth Utd are also chasing hard and won also when Dumfries visited. Youth went in at half time level at 1-1 and knew they had to get an important win and did in the end with a good performance in the second half. Islam Kadyrov with a hat-trick as well as a strike from Anton Mackay, Liam Watson scoring for Dumfries. Annan Development now look to be getting to grips with the league and won well against Black Bull, Rikki Ogilvie, Paul Schoolar, Ian Cameron and Callum Grieve were the scorers. Greens Park went with experience on sunday with veterans Steven 'Squirrel' Studholme and Ricky 'Totti' Irving starting. Even with all those years of experience they were tested to the maximum against an Annan side who are having a good season and Annan desevedly won well with some good football being played. Chris Norval opened the scoring, Mark Lessing Snr then curled an effort in from the edge of the box for 2-0, Chris Norval scored again with a header from a corner, James Jardine then scored from a corner again before James scored again followed by an own goal to give Annan a half time lead. Greens gave an improved performance after half time tough they did score another own goal. Mark Lessing Jnr then scored to make it 8 before Mark Leesing Snr scored from a ball over the top. late on Rab Blythe scored a consolation for Greens Park.
