The weather was the real winner of the weekend, with heavy rain and howling winds leading the way making it tough conditions for supporters, players, referees and officials. There was some heat on the day as tempers spilled over in the Youth Utd v Normandy game causing the game to be abandoned early. Hole in Wa meanwhile were playing monopoly as they used their get out of jail card to rescue the points in a very tight and competitive game in the Premier League against Scaur. It was Scaur who took the lead early in te second half when Chris Cloy had a mazy run before finishing well from distance. Wa though came roaring back and equalised within a couple of minutes when veteran Mark Hay scored high into the corner of the net from the edge of the box leaving Scaurs keeper with no hope. Within 10 minutes Joe Jardine hit an effort from the edge of the box dipping high into the net again giving Scaurs keeper no chance whatsoever. A good game played well between 2 good teams in testing conditions, Wa still fighting for the championship whilst Scaur again will be scratching their heads wondering how they never got the points especially as they more than held their own. Annan Town also kept themselves well and truly in the championship race with a high scoring win against Kelloholm. Brian Mattison was at it again with a hat-trick accompanied by Darren Watson who also hit a hat-trick, John Quinn weighed in with 2 goals as well for the hosts. Robert O Connor with a double for the visitors as well as strikes from Ben Johnston and Alex Boyle. Loreburn were delighted taking the lead at the start of the second half against Palmerston Colts when Reece Brown put them ahead especially with Scaur drawing 0-0 at the time on the pitch beside them. Palmerston then got themselves in front at 3-1 but Loreburn still were carving out their fair share of chances but they missed the chances and Palmerston Colts eventually saw out the game in the end. Palmerstons scorers on the day were Andy Gilston with a hat-trick, Ali Mason, Craig Broadfoot, Darren Kerr and Mark Cravens. Jolly Harvester blazed a penalty wide at 0-0 in the first alf and paid the price when they went in at half-time 0-1 down after Nicki Frame tucked home from close range right on half-time. Kyle Muirhead equalised from the penalty spot in the second half for Jolly before Kevin Wilson scored from the spot for Moffat Thistle. Sean Peat then equalised for Jolly before Darren Hunter won the game for Moffat Thistle. Ruthwell played host to the FC Annan bandwagon and also fell by the wayside as the Annan lads again got the 3 points. Mark Leesing Jnr scored a double as well as John Campbell, Mark Leesing Snr, Chris Norval and Tony Power also scored for the Annan side. Daniel Carey especially catching the eye setting up over half the goals on the day. James Johnston and Ryan Johnston scoring for the hosts.
