Moffat Thistle are now the holders of all three knockout cups after seeing off Kelloholm Arms in the final of the TPS Trophy at Heathhall on Sunday, An early headed goal from Damon Campbell put Moffat ahead but Kelloholm pushed forward and spurned several chances to level. Moffat could have gone further ahead before the break but saw a free kick crash back off the upright. The second half saw Moffat gain control but on 70 minutes they were reduced to ten men and the tide turned back the way of Kelloholm. It took until the 83rd minute for the equaliser to come as the ball was fired across goal and Shaun Perry pounced. Almost from the restart though Moffat were awarded a free kick in the centre of the pitch which was lofted into the box and Kevin Wilson fired them back ahead. As Kelloholm pushed for another equaliser they were exposed and a punt from the Moffat keeper set Damon Campbell free and he fired home to put the result beyond doubt. There was more silverware handed out at the weekend after Normandy Star sealed the First Division title with a 4-2 win over Ruthwell thanks to goals from Cammy Sinclair, John Howie and a double from Jack Louden> They were presented with the trophy on Sunday but in their final league match were held to a draw by Dumfries Athletic, who took the lead through Lewis Lamb. A Cammy Sinclair brace had the champions ahead at half time but Alan Lamb earned a second draw in a week for Dumfries after they came from three down against Annan Development on Thursday night. Corrie Trussler, Rikki Ogilivie and an own goal had put Annan firmly in charge but Dumfries fought back and a second half double for Lewis Lamb gave them hope and a point was rescued with a thumping volley from Wayne Petrie. The Premier title looks like going to the wire as the lead changed hands twice more during the week. Hole in the Wa went went top on Tuesday night despite losing an early goal to Kelloholm Arms, they roared back to win 6-1. A Dale Talaszko header cancelled out the opener and Bruce McQuarrie tapped home from a corner to put the Wa in front, Terry Jardine then scored from the spot and added two from open play for his hat trick before Scott Gordon put the icing on the cake. Annan Town then faced Palmerston Colts on Friday night. Palmerston had knocked Scaur for six on Tuesday with a Ally Mason hat trick and strikes from Mark Cravens, Murray Campbell and Craig Kerr, and they opened the scoring against Annan but a Brian Mattinson hat trick turned the match on its head. Palmerston did get some hope of snatching a point with a goal five minutes from the end but Mark Rogerson made sure Annan returned to the summit. There was a high scoring match on Sunday with Ruthwell Rovers scoring five but still losing as Ben Dempster scored three, Islam Kadyrov two and Ian Ruthven and Graeme Holmes making seven for Youth United to earn the win.
