Triple Title for Town

Defending Champions Annan Town travelled to Beattock on Thursday night knowing a win would give them back to back Premier titles while anything less would hand the trophy to Hole in the Wa. Moffat were suffering from their cup success which created an end of season fixture pile up, but they were certainly in no mood to lie down and let Annan celebrate. The home side were proving difficult to break down as they looked to frustrate the visitors early on, and it looked like being one of those days as the Annan strikers were spurning the chances which did fall their way. It was virtually one way traffic but Moffat did look capable of hitting on the break. As half time approached though Annan did make the breakthrough and began to look more confident. A second goal on the hour mark pretty much wrapped up the title as Moffat resistance was broken and tiredness began to tell. It was title party time and a third goal came on 70 minutes, with a free kick on 85 and a fifth goal moments from time putting the icing on the cake for Annan.

The Premier Play off took place on Friday night at the Keswick Centre, with Scaur looking to stay up and Terregles hoping to cap a fine debut season with promotion. After an excellent start to the campaign where automatic promotion seemed likely Terregles tailed away and found it difficult to lift themselves for this match as the experience of Scaur shone through, with the Premier side scoring two first half goals as they controlled the match, three more in the second half proved their dominance and secured their top flight status, as Terregles managed a consolation counter.
