Sunday sees the culmination of the group stages of the League cup and the format means there are very few meaningless games. Hole in the Wa may have won Group A but any slip up against Five Arches Bombers could see them face a quarter final tie, while a win would see them into the semi-finals. Bombers are currently joint second but only a win will give them a chance of making the quarters, as Normandy Star face Dumfries Athletic and Normandy know they need to better the Bombers result to take second, while Dumfries could also progress if they win and Bombers don’t. The only match of the day without a bearing on who goes through is the Ruthwell Summerhill tie but both sides will be desperate for a win to take into next week’s league opener. The top two also meet in Group B and a draw would see Annan Town and Scaur progress to the quarters, but a win could secure a semi spot and defeat might just see Moffat Thistle snatch second spot if they can win by a few goals at FC Annan. Group C mirrors Group A in that Palmerston Colts are guaranteed top spot but still want a win to secure a semi-final place, they face Queens Bar who hold outside hopes of snatching second with a win. Morton Youth currently occupy second spot and a win over Kelloholm would see them through, but any slip could allow Loreburn Thistle to snatch the runner up spot with a win over Park Thistle.
