The first final of the season will be contested between Palmerston Colts and Hole in the Wa after the two came through tough semi finals at the weekend. Palmerston Colts eased past Annan Town at Lockerbie on Friday night, Greig Lawrie had put Colts in front but Shaun Bell scored to send the sides in level at the break but Andy Gilston and Liam Malcolm added second half strikes for Palmerston to see them through. The second semi final saw The Wa take on Morton Youth at Holm Park on Sunday and the two cancelled eachother out in a nervy first half, but a Stefan Tate headed goal at the start of the second half brought the game to life. Morton went two nil up in the 52nd minute through Islam Kadyrov, but The Wa reduced the deficit a couple of minutes later as Joe Jardine fired home at the second attempt. Morton looked like they were going to edge though as the match went into stoppage time, but as the clock ran out Ian Corson popped up to send the match into extra time. Hole in the Wa took the lead for the first time in the 97th minute as an Eddie Marshall corner was headed in by Davy Paterson and a couple of minutes later Marshall played in Sean Peat for the fourth, then almost from the restart Sean Peat won the ball back, strode forward and smashed in a long range effort to put the tie to bed with Joe Jardine adding a sixth for good measure. Moffat Thistle took advantage of the cup weekend to go clear at the top, a Roddy Carlyle double and counters from Dale Talaszko and Callum Saunders gave them the win over Normandy Star who replied through Jordan Paterson and Dylan Irving Scaur made it two wins from two, smashing double figures in the Upper Nithsdale derby. Chris Gibson was chief tormentor of Kelloholm, with five goals, Shaun Wood, Josh Notman and Sandy Bowie bagged a brace each with Chris Cloy, Matt Coleman, Andy Maxwell, Elliot Brown and Ellis McLaughlin all finding the net. A hat trick for Thomas Nicholson alongside a Mark McGhie double and strike from Mark Carruthers earned Nithside all three points against Queens Bar who replied through Logan MacDonald and Ewan Buchanan as well as an own goal. In the First Division Five Arches Bombers continue to set the pace as they comfortably saw off Dumfries Athletic with seven unanswered goals. Two first half goals from Graeme Maxwell and a strike from Thomas Coles had them cruising before Duncan Smith made it four, Joe Windsor added a fifth and two crackers from Chris Ross wrapped up the win. Loreburn Thistle stay second but look to have found top gear as Rees Brown rattled in five with a Jamie Linwood brace and Andrew Drysdale strike seeing off Ruthwell Rovers despite a Josh Adams strike having had the scoreline at 1-1 early in the match. Park Thistle picked up another three points but were pushed hard by Summerhill who opened the scoring through Chris Watson early in the match before Park were reduced to ten men. Robbie Simpson brought Park Level before half time and then snatched the win with a late goal. FC Annan look to have shook off a lethargic start to the season as they beat Black Bull by seven goals to one. John Campbell opened the scoring then was instrumental in forcing an own goal, Black Bull pulled one back through Steven Walker but John Campbell added his second and Chris Norval made it four. Danny Carradice then got on the scoresheet, Rikki Ogilvie converted a penalty and Jamie Nixon rounded off the scoring.
