Bombers maintain perfect start to extend lead

After Friday nights cup Final it was back to league business and Moffat Thistle continued their determined start as Dale Talaszko and Darren Hunter bagged braces and Derek Dunsmore scored to give them a 5-1 win over Nithside, with Thomas Nicholson replying for the visitors. Annan Town climbed to second but had to survive a scare against Queens Bar. Mark Carruthers had the Dumfries side in front inside ten minutes but Darren Watson levelled soon later and David Rowan put Annan ahead on the half hour. Queens Bar had chances to level before Shaun Bell gave Annan some breathing space, though Paul Trainor pulled one back to give the home side hope but substitutes Mark Rogerson and Iain Cameron both found the net in the last twenty minutes to put a gloss on the result for Annan. Morton Youth picked up three points at Kelloholm, with Islam Kadyrov grabbing a hat trick, Sean Kirk scoring twice and Jordan Barker and Ben Dempster also on the scoresheet. Scaur and Normandy Star shared six goals at Penpont. Scaur were ahead three times in the match, with Gavin Maxwell scoring the only goal of the first half and then putting them ahead again after Mark cravens had levelled. Jordan Nish drew Normandy level before Ben Louden put Scaur in front again, and Jordan Nish had the last word to earn Star a point. Five Arches Bombers are in control of the First Division after they cruised to a three nil win over second placed Park Thistle. Duncan Smith scoring twice, either side of a Thomas Coles strike. Dumfries Athletic moved within striking distance of second as they saw off Summerhill by the odd goal in seven. Stuart Bradley and Keenan Moss had Dumfries ahead but Summerhill scored twice before the break to level. Wayne Petrie and Keenan Moss put Dumfries back in front and a late free kick pulled one back for Summerhill. FC Annan came from behind to pick up a good win at Ruthwell. Mark Leesing Snr opened the scoring for Annan but Jack Ball and Josh Adams scored to put Ruthwell in front. John Campbell levelled before Ruthwell were reduced to ten men and Annan took full advantage with Chris Norval smashing them ahead with a 20 yard strike, John Campbell making it four and Mark Leesing Snr adding a fifth. Brady Irving and Corey Bell both hit the woodwork twice as Annan ran out comfortable winners in the end. Loreburn Thistle halted a poor run with a win at Black Bull Rovers, Scott Murray, Robert McCormack and Jamie Linwood finding the net with Jon Muir grabbing a consolation for the home side.
