The weekend proved fruitful for our teams in the Scottish Sunday Trophy, with all four of our Premier representatives winning through to the third round. Normandy Star travelled to Lochend Star and triumphed by the odd goal in five, with Paul McCann, Bobby Green and Kris Shannon on target. Annan Town visited Lanarkshire Forest for the second season in a row, and again came out victorious. An own goal started them on their way before Darren Watson volleyed home a Danny Lockerby cross, Mikey Thomson was also on target and Darren Watson sealed the win with a cracking free kick. Hole in the Wa went behind at home to Corstorphine Dynamo who scored a free kick just before half time, it took the Wa to the hour mark to level as Nicky Paton swept home, within ten minutes they were ahead with Joe Jardine firing a free kick in off the post and they put the icing on the result with a late fourth from Nicky Paton. Moffat Thistle also go into Wednesdays draw after coming through after a penalty shoot out. A Stefan Jackson double and a goal from Darren Hunter helped them to a 3-3 draw before they triumphed in the shoot out. Our First division representatives didnt fare quite so well as Park Thistle lost out five nil to PFD in Clydebank and Ruthwell Rovers bowed out of the tournament at Airdrie, their consolation coming through a late Owen Brown goal. On league business Nithside made it back to back wins as they saw off Palmerston Colts to climb to third. A Scott Muir brace and strike from Thomas Nicholson were enough despite a Craig Kerr strike for Palmerston. Queens Bar picked up their first point of the campaign as they held Scaur, the Penpont side scorers were Ben Louden and Ross Lockhart. Morton Youth piled the pressure on Kelloholm Arms, Islam Kadyrov helping himself to five goals, Jordan Barker grabbing a hat trick and Shun Milligan scoring a 25 yard rasper. In the First division Five Arches Bombers continued their relentless march to the title with a ruthless victory over Loreburn Thistle. Chris Ross and Duncan Smith had Five Arches ahead but Connor Docherty pulled one back before Loreburn before the Bombers turned the screw, Duncan Smith completing his hat trick and Graeme Maxwell scoring four, with Graham Jamieson and Rowan McGill also getting in on the goalscoring act. FC Annan and Dumfries Athletic were both looking to move into second place but remained fourth and third after an entertaining two all draw. Liam Watson put Dumfries ahead but John Campbell pounced to send the sides in level at half time, Alan Milligan restored the Dumfries lead but John Campbell completed his barce to earn a share of the spoils. Finally, Summerhill travelled to Lockerbie and returned with three points at the expense of Black Bull Rovers. Kyle Gallacher and Mark Murray both hit doubles and Chris Watson and Ryan Harper also scored for the Dumfries side.
