Moffat clinch Premier Title

Moffat Thistle only needed a point to secure the Premier title as they travelled to Penpont, but Scaur had no intention of handing them a title party. Matt Coleman put the home side ahead but Moffat drew level from the spot with Jamie Carlyle scoring. Moffat then went down to ten men and Scaur pressed for a winner but Moffat held on to the point they needed to win the league with two games to spare. In the First Division Dumfries Athletic secured a play off spot as they drew with Park Thistle. An Alan Lamb penalty for Dumfries was cancelled out by a Robbie Simpson header before Park went down to ten men. Alan Milligan put Dumfries in front again but Robbie Simpson scored again before Dumfries also had a player see red and the two sides played out a draw. Ruthwell Rovers became the first side to take points from Five Arches Bombers in the First Division as a solid defensive display brought up a rare 0-0 result in the league. Black Bull hosted Summerhill in the Houliston Cup and goals from Jon Muir, Steven Graham and Bob Jardine saw them through. Back in the Premier Hole in the Wa saw off Morton Youth 3-1. Mark Milligan scored just before half time and Derek Hunter scored an absolutely tremendous goal to put the Wa two up before Islam Kadyrov pulled one back for Morton. A late Tommy Goss strike put the icing on the result for the Wa. There was a cracking match in heavy conditions at Annan with the home side taking the lead through Ashleigh Maxwell but Jordan Paterson levelled for Normandy. Mark Rogerson put Annan ahead for a second time but again Normandy pegged them back, with John Howie scoring, then Jordan Paterson put the visitors ahead for the first time. Darren Watson brought the sides level yet again, but the depth on the Normandy bench was to tell as they finished stronger and took all three points thanks to a Kris Shannon goal. There was another close match as Palmerston Colts took on Nithside, Greig Lawrie scored for Palmerston but Thomas Nicholson and Steven Green replied to give Nithside the win in an end end encounter. The final match saw Queens Bar pick up their first win of the campaign over second bottom Kelloholm. Robert Menzies scored twice for the visitors but a Davie Nish double and goals from Kenneth Meader and Robert Chambers ensured the points stayed in Dumfries.
