The First cup final of the season will be an all Dumfries affair as Palmerston Colts eased past Scaur in a seven goal thriller full of talking points to make the final for the second year running. Ellis McLaughlin and Matt Thomson had put Scaur 2-0 up before Liam Malcolm scored for Palmerston on the hour mark. Scaur were reduced to nine men but restored their two goal cushion through Sandy Bowie but Ross Kerr scored on 75 minutes and Darren Monteith levelled with a header and as extra time loomed Axl Menlove put Colts ahead for the first time to send them to the final. They will face Five Arches in the final after the Bombers made their second straight final by seeing off Annan Town thanks to a Graham Jamieson brace and goals from David Bradbury, Russel Jardine, Duncan Smith and Stuart Cobban. Annan had a penalty from John Campbell and free kick from Billy Sutherland on their tally but will feel the scoreline wasn't reflective of the efforts they put into the game as they rued a missed spot kick. In the League Nithside maintained their 100% start as they edged out Hole in the Wa. Thomas Nicholson had Nithside in front inside five minutes but a couple of minutes later Islam Kadyrov levelled. Just before half time Michael McGhie scored the first of his hat trick to put Nithside back in front but Wa cancelled it out early in the second half though Marc Zutic. Nithside went ahead again just after the hour mark and again Wa levelled within a few minutes, this time Terry Traynor scoring. Nithside scored again with a quarter of an hour to play and this time stood firm, to deny the Wa a share of the spoils. Moffat Thistle continue to set the pace at the top of the division with a fine win over Morton Youth thanks to an Adam Henderson treble, a brace from Kevin Jack and strikes from Declan Wallace and Julian Mills. Morton were very much in the game early on and missed two penalties with the score at 1-0, and had a thumping 25 yard goal from Ian Ruthven to show for their efforts. Normandy Star also kept in touch with a 6-1 win over Dumfries. Jordan Muirhead put Normandy in front but Paul McDowall levelled for Dumfries. Gary White put Normandy back in front from the spot then Muirhead got his second and Tommy Goss made it four with Jak Dingwall and John Howie also getting on target for Star. The First Division is shaping up to be a very tight race as FC Annan inflicted a first defeat on Queens Bar and four sides now sit on 12 points. Chris McMenamin, Chris Norval and Brady Irving scored for Annan with Rees Brown on the scoresheet for Queens Bar. Summerhill are one of the joint leaders as a solitary Brendan Gillon strike was enough to earn them all three points from the visit of Kelloholm. While Ruthwell had their best result of the season despite Sands levelling a Luca Pagani opener. Grant Bryson netted and John Dalgliesh hit a double to put Rovers in control. Bryson completed his brace with Stuart Dalgliesh and Callum Sloan also netting to seal the win.
