Palmerston take Nithside Winning Record

On a day when Moffat weren't in action Normandy Star and Nithside had a chance to climb to the summit, but it was Palmerston Colts who ended up making the headlines by inflicting a first league defeat on Nithside in clinical fashion. Doubles from Ross Kerr and Axl Menlove as well as goals from Gary Kerr, Liam Malcolm, Craig Kerr and Jai Harkness put Nithside to the sword, with a strike from Thomas Nicholson their only response. Normandy also failed to get the win they needed to top the table as they were held by Hole in the Wa despite being 3-1 up. Wa opened the scoring through Mikey Devlin after only four minutes but Scott Learmont levelled for Star on the half hour and on the hour mark Normandy went ahead through Tommy Goss, and ten minutes later Tommy made it three. Bruce McQuarrie nodded home a corner to set up a frantic final fifteen minutes in which he was booked and then scored another header to equalise three minutes from time. Five Arches Bombers picked up a good win as they brushed Morton Youth aside. A Duncan Smith hat trick and braces for Tom Smith and Callum Rankine as well as David Bradbury penalty earned them the win but Steven Dinnell had scored for Morton to make it 3-1 before a late goal rush saw the Bombers home. In a cracking match Scaur took the lead against Dumfries Athletic with Ellis McLaughlin scoring then Dumfries took charge and Ryan Kerr levelled before half time and a Paul McDowall double and Shaun Milligan goal had Dumfries in control before Scaur scored three in the last fifteen minutes through Craig Stitt, Elliot Brown and Ross Lockhart to earn a point. Summerhill went top of the First Division but had to come from behind against Sands, with a long range strike from Scott Airley, brace from Kyle Gallacher and goal from Ryan Harper giving them a 4-2 win. Ruthwell Rovers picked up a fine win and dented Queens Bars title hopes as a Grant Bryson double and goals from Connor Houston and Jack Dunlop earned them a 4-1 victory.
