Moffat extend their lead

Second played third in the Premier Division with Normandy Star and Five Arches Bombers both desperate to keep the pressure on the leaders. There was little to choose between the two sides in a hard fought match with Graeme Maxwell, Tom Smith and Callum Rankine netting for the Bombers and Tommy Goss, Jordan Nosh and Michael McGhie responding for Normandy as the spoils were shared. That draw gave Moffat Thistle a chance to extend the gap at the top, but they were pushed all the way at Scaur. Gary Crosbie and Rab Menzies were on target for the home team but Moffat scored three to earn all three points. Nithside gave their goal difference a boost with Thomas Nicholson bagging five, Sean Potts helping himself to four and Jordan Barker also getting three alongside singles for Stefan MacKay, Stefan Tate and Sandy Kennedy as they put Morton Youth to the sword. Palmerston Colts also picked up three points against Annan Town. Greig Lawrie, Ross Kerr and an Aaron Callendar brace had them well in control at halftime but second half Annan made a game of it with a Lewis Peacock penalty and double from John Campbell, but Craig Kerr also hit two more for Palmerston to make sure of the win. In the only match in the First Division FC Annan extended their lead with a convincing win over Ruthwell at Lockerbie. James Johnstone scored for Rovers but two goals from Chris McMenamin and strikes from Chris Norval, John Quinn and Martin McKeeman gave Annan victory.
