Bombers and Star book a Final encounter

The first Semi final of the Houliston cup was too close to call, and it took extra time to separate Five Arches Bombers and Hole in the Wa. It was the Wa who drew first blood on the half hour mark as a corner was swung in by Lee True and the Bombers keeper could only parry into his own net. Bombers then scored three goals in a four minute spell, with a Graham Jamieson header, Callum Rankine and Russel Jardine strikes to send them in ahead at the break. A goal from Islam Kadyrov ten minutes into the second half gave the Wa hope of a comeback, but it took til ten minutes from time for Islam to find an equalising goal, and then Dale Talaszko put the Wa ahead with five minutes to play. Five Arches piled forward to rescue the tie and in stoppage time Graham Maxwell pounced to send the match into extra time. With the match two minutes from penalties a second goal for Graham Maxwell and a strike from Chris Ross put Five Arches into the final. They will face Normandy Star who recovered from going behind to a Greig Corbett strike for Palmerston Colts, with Michael McGhie grabbing a hat trick, Cammy Sinclair bagging a brace and Tommy Goss and Jordan Patterson also on target to put Star into yet another cup final. With Normandy and Five Arches distracted by the cup Moffat Thistle extended their lead in the Premier Division with a good win at Annan Town. Adam Henderson added four more to his tally for the season, Kevin Jack hit a double and Stefan Jackson also netted, with John Campbell scoring all four for the home side in an entertaining match. Nithside also picked up three good points on the road with Thomas Nicholson, Sandy Kennedy, Sean Potts and Arthur McAdam all scoring while Gary Crosbie was on target for Scaur. In the First Division FC Annan took a huge step towards the title as they opened up a seven point lead after going down to ten men and being two goals behind as James Taylor hit a double for Kelloholm. Jack Campbell reduced the arrears, Mark Leesing levelled and Chris Norval scored to take all three points. Summerhill saw their play off hopes take a dent despite Stewart Hannah putting them in front against Ruthwell Rovers. Luca Pagani levelled from the penalty spot before a Callum Sloan brace put Ruthwell in control and Luca Pagani added his second to make sure of the win. In the final match Park Thistle climbed above Summerhill with a win over Sands. Robbie Simpson opened the scoring from the spot after he was brought down and Chris Bailey and Dougie Rae both helped themselves to hat tricks, with Sands getting a consolation with a penalty of their own.
