Fourth place in the Premier was on offer on friday night at Palmerston as Nithside looked to overhaul Palmerston Colts, and the game was as tight as the league would suggest. it was Palmerston though who picked up the three points to keep their eyes fixed on catching the teams above them, a counter from Aaron Callendar and a screamer from Ross Kerr was enough for the win with Thomas Nicholsons strike little more than consolation for Nithside. Sunday saw two cup matches, with Five Arches Bombers and Dumfries Athletic meeting for the fifth time this season. A tight first half saw a Graeme Maxwell goal give Bombers the edge. Dumfries fought manfully but a threadbare squad meant the team tired and had no options on the bench, as Bombers took full advantage. Graeme Maxwell completed his hat trick, Chris Ross pitched in and David Bradbury and Graham Jamieson also got in on the goalscoring. The other match saw First Division Summerhill give Premier Side Scaur a run for their money. An Iain Christine goal for Summerhill was cancelled out by a Gary Crosbie brace and Ellis McLachlan strike to see Scaur through.
