Moffat Thistle were expected to take another step towards the Premier title as they visited bottom team Dumfries Athletic, and after they went two up through Adam Henderson and Declan Wallace the result looked beyond doubt. But Dumfries refused to lie down, and a spirited second half performance had Moffat on the back foot. A strike from Darren Cassidy gave Dumfries hope, but Moffat held on for all three points. Morton Youth were hoping to drag Annan Town back into the relegation reckoning but the visitors were in fine form with Ewan Buchanan grabbing a hat trick and Mark Rogerson scoring twice alongside goals from John Campbell and Ashleigh Maxwell, with Morton grabbing a consolation with an excellent long range goal from Alex Bedford. Scaur are also looking to distance themselves from a relegation dogfight and it was looking promising after Rab Menzies scored twice to put them ahead against Five Arches. The Bombers roared back though and a brace apiece from David Bradbury and Graeme Maxwell and a goal from Chris Ross put them in the driving seat. Scaur pulled one back through Gary Crosbie but were unable to get any closer. Friday night saw a mid table clash with Hole in the Wa looking to draw level with Nithside on points, but it was Nithside who opened the gap with a Thomas Nicholson treble and goals from Jordan Barker, Shaun Kirk and a stunning volley from his own half from Scott Scuddy Muir. The Wa scored twice through Allan Hunter and Kris Shannon. There were also some titanic cup clashes at the weekend, with Palmerston Colts taking on Normandy Star and triumphing with goals from William Gray, Jack Wilson, Craig Kerr and Ben Louden, despite strikes from Cammy Sinclair and Paul McCann for Normandy. FC Annan travelled to face Park Thistle and fell behind to a Chris Bailey header, before levelling through John Quinn and going ahead with a Chris Norval header. Chris Norval then scored a second header and Jimmy Reid converted a penalty to see Annan through. Sands hosted Queens Bar and defended resolutely before their resistance was broken by John Muir, who then added a second and Mark Carruthers made it three with Ryan Melvin grabbing a consolation for Sands. Summerhill travelled to Kelloholm looking to halt a slump in form which has seen them slip off the top of the table and almost out of play off reckoning. A tight match could've gone either way but finished level with Ben Gillon and Liam Watson scoring for Summerhill.
