Last weeks fixtures were mainly cup ties but there was one important Premier Division match on Thursday night as Hole in the Wa ended Normandy Star title dreams. In a very tight fist half it was Normandy who drew first blood with a goal just before half time, but there was time before the break for Hole in the Wa to level with a Eddie Marshall free kick. Kris Shannon then put the Wa ahead and Lee True added a third just before the hour mark. Normandy pushed to take something from the game but a second goal from Michael McGhie came to late to be anything other than a consolation. The Wa carried that form into the weekend as they recorded a fine win over FC Annan with Eddie Marshall scoring twice, Dale Talaszko, Mark Milligan, Islam Kadyrov and Kris Shannon all on target and Mark Leesing netting a consolation for Annan. Palmerston Colts also had two wins as they eased into the TPS semi finals, seeing off Nithside midweek with a brace apiece for Darren Monteith and Ryan Kerr as well as a goal for Darren Kerr, and on Sunday they saw off Annan Town comfortably. Ryan Kerr added four more goals to his season tally and Jamie Kerr hit a double, Darren Monteith added a goal and Craig Kerr wrapped up the scoring while Liam Grimley countered for Annan. Moffat Thistle are also in the TPS Semis after needing extra time to get past Scaur. Moffat were 2.0 up through Roddy Carlyle and Stefan Jackson but goals for Matt Coleman and Ellis McLachlan took the tie into an additional half hour. Moffat dominated the added period as Stefan Jackson scored twice to complete his hat trick and Jamie Carlyle also netted. Morton Youth and Park Thistle had to be separated by penalties after drawing three each. Bob Clark put Park ahead but Anton Anderson levelled, goals from Adnan Dogrultan and Jonny Riddick had Park looking to the next round but Morton fought back and Steven Dinnell scored from the spot with Ross Little netting to send the match to penalties, with Morton triumphing 5-4. There were also two first division matches with Summerhill bringing three points back from Kelloholm with Liam Watson scoring four, Brendan Gillon, Ben Gillon and Kyle Gallagher all on target. Ruthwell Rovers recorded a good 4-0 victory over Sands with a Jamie Robson penalty, back-heel from Paul Otway and goals from Robert Jardine and Matty Donagher.
