The third cup final of the season was played on Friday night with League Winners Moffat looking to add the TPS trophy to their haul, and Hole in the Wa looking for their first silverware of the season. It was the Wa who started brightest and after nine minutes a cross from the left was controlled by Kris Shannon and he beat his man to fire home the opener. Just before the half hour mark it was Shannon again who fired home in similar fashion, and just on the stroke of half time man of the match Shannon got to the byeline and played a ball across goal which was sent into the net by Islam Kadyrov. Ten minutes into the second half a mesmerising solo run by Eddie Marshall ending with him adding a fourth from an acute angle. Moffat did pick up as they chased the game and on the hour they pulled a goal back with a fine strike from the edge of the box. with quarter of an hour to play The Wa were reduced to ten men after a last man foul on the edge of the box, but they held on despite their reduced number to lift the trophy. Five Arches Bombers hit the goal trail with 21 in two games. hitting seven past Scaur midweek, Graeme Maxwell and Russel Jardine both scoring three and Darren Ross also on target while Gary Crosbie scored twice for Scaur. On Sunday Graeme Maxwell bagged another hat trick and Tam Coles, Duncan Smith and Stephen McDill also netted three apiece, John Hunt, Jack Ogston and Craig Farnhill were also all on target as they eased past Queens Bar in the HHGC Trophy. Their opponents in next weeks semi final will be Normandy Star who eased past Nithside 2-1 thanks to goals from Gary White and Greg Walls, they also ended their league campaign midweek with four goals from Mark McGhie taking him over the half century for the season and Tommy Goss also on target, with Chris Nelson bagging a brace for Palmerston Colts. Nithside had ended their league campaign on Thursday night beating Annan Town 4-3. John Campbell had scored twice inside the opening 20 minutes for Annan before Thomas Nicholson reduced the arrears from the spot. Craig Pattullo then saved a penalty before Annan extended their lead through Liam Buchanan. Nithside finished the stronger and Thomas Nicholson completed his hat trick and Arthur MacAdam also scored to give them all three points. The other HHGC semi will be between Hole in the Wa and Summerhill after the Wa disposed of Scaur with goals from Paul Hair, Mark Milligan, a Mikey Devlin double, Islam Kadyrov and Stuart Smith. Summerhill were also rampant with Liam Watson grabbing three and Ryan Gilmore two, Ben Gillon and Kyle McQueen also on target to end Morton Youths season. There was also one First Division match as Kelloholm visited Park Thistle and opened the scoring early on, Bob Clark levelled soon after though but Kello went ahead again, Quinn Rogerson scored and Chris Bailey put Park ahead for the first time before Kelloholm drew level, Bailey then went on a one man mission adding five more to his tally, while Kello grabbed a late consolation. One sour incident in the match where Park keeper and Sunday League Stalwart Michael Turner suffered a double leg break in a collision and everyone at the league wishes Turner a full and speedy recovery.
