Town top the table

With the rest of the top four on cup duty Annan Town had the chance to strike for the top of the table, and they made no mistake against Crichton Campus, as they racked up their sixth win from six thanks to a Dale Muir hat-trick and strikes from John Campbell and Stuart Holmes, Crichton grabbed a consolation through Lewis Banks. Five Arches lessened the blow of being userped at the league summit by taking their place in yet another cup final, as they edged a five goal thriller against Nithside. Gary White put the Bombers ahead inside five minutes but the two teams cancelled eachother out for the rest of the half, but Nithside started the second period on the front foot, levelling through Anton MacKay and going ahead as Shaun Kirk netted a penalty. With five minuted left Bombers levelled through Stephen McDill and with extra time looming were awarded a penalty of their own which was despatched by Graham Maxwell. The will face Palmerston Colts in the final as Ross Kerr scored the only goal in their match against Scaur. Back in the league, Hole in the Wa earned an impressive win at Moffat Thistle, with Kris Shannon scoring twice to put them two nil up by half time and Dale Talaszko added a superb solo third before Adam Henderson pulled one back for Moffat. Dale scored his second and Islam Kadyrov headed home a fifth before Julian Mills scored a late second for the home side. Morton Thistle bagged seven to Riversides three, with Trialist Mark Carruthers scoring four and Ali Baird, Ewan Buchanan and Damon Clues also on target. Summerhill went four nil up against Ruthwell with Stewart Hannah, Quinn Rogerson, Ryan Harper and Jamie Coulter scoring before Rovers came back and strikes from Luca Pagani and Grant Bryson reduced the arrears. A ding dong encounter saw FC Annan take full points from the visit of Normandy Star. A pretty even first half saw a Chris McMenamin goal on the half hour seperating the sides, but Star levelled early in the secon through Dougie Rae. Brady Irving scored twice to put Annan in front but Dougie Rae grabbed his second and Kieron Linwood fired home another equaliser. Chrissy McMenamin added his second to put Annan ahead again and Ketih Rogerson completed the scoring.
