Bombers Lead the Way

Fourth placed Palmerston Colts started Sunday above Scaur on goal difference only so a tight match was expected, and delivered, but the Dumfries team set about their task brilliantly to take all three points with goals from Ellis McLachlan, Darren Kerr and Darren Tait, while the visitors responded through Rab Menzies. Third placed Annan Town visited sixth placed Nithside and bounced back from defeat last weekend with an impressive win to halt Nithside's own charge up the table. Billy Sutherland bagged a brace and Daniel Carey, Danny Lockerby, John Campbell and Stuart Holmes were all on target with Kyle Robertson grabbing a consolation for the hosts. Hole in the Wa stayed second and did their goal difference a power of good as Islam Kadyrov scored twice in the opening five minutes and went on the bag six, with Allan Hunter also scoring five. Marc Zutic netted from distance and Dale Talaszko, Bruce McQuarrie, Lee True, Stuart Wight and Kris Shannon all hit the target against struggling Normandy Star. Five Arches Bombers remain unbeaten and top of the table with a convincing win over Dumfries Athletic. Sean Kevan scored a hat trick and Greame Maxwell, Stephen McDill and Russel Thomson were all on the scoresheet as Ewan McLellan grabbed a goal for Dumfries. Finally Riverside picked up three points as they saw off Summerhill by the same scoreline; Luke Broadhurst netting a treble, Connor Docherty, Robert Clark and Mark Montgomery all scored while Ryan Harper netted for the Hill.
