After their matches were postponed last weekend due to the weather, both Annan teams won through their first round cup ties on Sunday. FC Annan were dominant in the visit of Summerhill, with Dion Irving and Brady Irving bagging two apiece and Jimmy Reid, Kyle Gallacher and Cameron Irvine also on the scoresheet. Annan Town also made short work of their progress as they travelled to Dumfries Athletic. A hat-trick for Dale Muir and John Campbell brace was enough, with Andrew Linden grabbing a consolation for the home side. On league business there were no surprises with the teams in the top half all winning. The big losers were Annan Town who dropped two places with Palmerston Colts and Scaur both winning. Palmy Colts swept aside Riverside with Jordan Barker netting five and Ross Kerr grabbing a treble, Declan Ramage also found the target while Diesel Ferguson and Harris Roan scored for Riverside. Scaur climbed to fourth after edging a seven goal thriller with Morton Thistle. Jamie Rae, Rees Brown, Ben Murphy and Shaun Wood were the scorers for the home side while Mark Carruthers netted twice and Ali Baird also scored for the visitors. Five Arches Bombers were three nil up against Normandy Star after an early Greame Maxwell header and goals either side of half time from Graham Jamieson. Normandy rattled their opponents when Guy O'Brien pulled one back and with ten minutes to play Jerzy Grzebieniak scored a second to give them hope but the Bombers held on to the points. Hole in the Wa stayed top after a hard fought win at Ruthwell Rovers. It looked like it was going to be plain sailing for the Wa as Eddie McKeand had them ahead on two minutes and Dale Talaszko made it two within five minutes, they could even afford a missed penalty on the quarter hour before Dale Talaszko made it three before the half hour. Ruthwell rallied though and within two minutes had one back through Ethan Black and five minutes later Owen Brown scored from 35 yards to get it back to 3-2. A second half header from Islam Kadyrov wrapped up victory for the leaders though. The final match saw Crichton travel to Moffat and their tough task was made even harder when they went down to ten men at 3-1 down. Moffat were clinical with Adam Henderson netting seven, Billy Armitage grabbing a hat-trick and Jon Muir bagging a brace as well as goals from Aiden Wallace and Andy Dempsey. Johnny Richardson netted a penalty and Lewis Banks also scored for Crichton.
