The First Division title was settled at the weekend as Dumfries Athletic edged out Crichton Campus in a seven goal thriller and now cannot be caught. An Andrew Linden treble and goal from Callum Jess was enough while Crichton had Mark Carruthers, Lewis Banks and Chris Bailey all on the scoresheet. That defeat for Crichton saw Morton Thistle leapfrog them in the table as a hat trick for Callum Kerr gave them a win over Summerhill, which gave Ruthwell Rovers the chance to go second as Ben Turner opened the scoring against Riverside from the penalty spot, Ethan Black chipped in with a brace and Luca Pagani netted a treble and James Johnstone also getting a goal. In the Premier the top two both hit seven against Annan sides. Hole in the Wa were rampant at Annan Town, Kris Shannon scored a penalty and Eddie Marshall made it two. A Stuart Wight header was followed by two rasping efforts from Dale Talaszko. Kris Shannon grabbed his second and Lee True made it seven before Andy Shannon netted a consolation for the home side. FC Annan made life difficult for Five Arches in the first half as a solitary Duncan Smith strike separated the sides, but the floodgates opened in the second with Smith getting his second, Tam Coles, Stewart Cobban and Graeme Maxwell all on target and Gary White grabbing a late brace. Scaur kept their own title hopes alive with three vital points against Nithside. An Eddie Prunty double and goals from Jamie Rae and Rab Menzies were enough despite a hat trick from Thomas Nicholson for the visitors. Palmerston Colts continue to ominously stalk the top sides with games in hand, an impressive victory at Moffat Thistle kept them in a dangerous position. Jordan Barker and a Ross Kerr free kick were enough for the victory, with Darren Hunter the score for Moffat.
