Premier title up for grabs

Nithside may have given up their own title hopes but on Sunday they put a dent in the chances of leaders Hole in the Wa. The wind was a big factor in the match but Nithside looked to have mastered it better and a Michael McGhie hat-trick and Robbie Simpson double gave them a comfortable victory despite counters from Dale Talaszko and Chris Cloy. Palmerston Colts are now within two points of the summit after a comfortable win over FC Annan. Darren Kerr bagged a treble with Ross Kerr, Ryan Beattie, Craig Kerr, Declan Ramage and Owen Brown while Mark Leesing netted a consolation for the visitors. Summerhill went three up on First division champions Dumfries with Darryl Klose, Jamie Kimm and Mitchell McGregor all netting. Dumfries rallied with Andy Linden and a thumping long range effort from Cain McKie reducing the arrears but they couldn't find the equaliser. There was another ding dong battle at the Crichton as Crichton Campus opened the scoring early on with an Andrew Kerr free kick. Jerzy Grzebeniak turned things round with a quickfire double but then Chris Bailey grabbed a brace of his own to send the Campus went in ahead. Jerzy levelled the match up again and as it looked like ticking down to a draw Cameron McLuckie fired Crichton back in front. There was a late sting in the tail though as Jerzy added his fourth to earn a point in stoppage time. There was also one cup match as Five Arches Bombers showed Riverside no mercy. Tam Coles added five goals to his haul for the season with Sean Kevan and Duncan Smith both scoring hat-tricks. Greg Walls hit a second half brace and Connor Robb, Stewart Cobban, Graeme Maxwell, John Hunt, Gary White and Graham Jamieson all found the net.
