Palmerston Crowned Premier Champs

A long hard league season finally came to an end as Palmerston Colts confirmed themselves champions in style, needing just a point from their last two games away to FC Annan and Scaur they won both games comfortably. A seven nil victory at Annan wrapped up the title as Jordan Barker scored four, Ross Kerr bagged a brace and Darren Tait also netted. Colts then lifted the trophy before their game at Penpont and finished with a win thanks to another Ross Kerr double. Craig Kerr scored two and Aaron Callender wrapped up their scoring, Ben Louden netted for Scaur. Five Arches Bombers finished second after edging a seven goal thriller at Annan Town. Sean Kevan scored twice and Greg Walls and Duncan Smith were also on target while Liam Grimley, Daniel Carey and Stuart Warwick were the scorers for Annan. Hole in the Wa were confirmed in third but finished their league campaign with a good win as they saw off Moffat Thistle with goals from Allan Hunter, Shaun Milligan, Eddie McKeand, Mikey Devlin, Murray Thompson and a well struck effort from Ian Corson. Normandy Star will contest the consolation cup final as they beat First Division Champions Dumfries Athletic to earn their spot. After a goalless first half Dumfries opened the scoring as Callum Jess swept home. Normandy levelled through Jerzy Grzbieniak and two penalties converted by Kieran Crosbie and Kenny Meader had them in control, a late fourth from Henry Sainsbury put a gloss on the scoreline. The will face Riverside in the final as FC Annan ended Morton hopes of making the final despite a Paul Errington double and Rees Brown goal for Morton, strikes from Cammy Irvine, Jared Patterson, Martin McKeeman and Chris Norval gave Annan the win. Ruthwell and Crichton finished their seasons with a draw at Clarencefield with Chris Bailey scoring twice and Mark Carruthers also on target for the visitors and Paul Otway, John Dalgliesh and Ryan Power scoring for the home side.
