An excellent week for Terregles saw them score 26 goals in two games to go clear at the top as the only team to maintain a 100% record so far. Palmerston Colts were put to the sword at the weekend as Michael McGhie bagged five, Stevie Green added a brace and Gary White, Eddie McKeand, Cammy Sinclair and John Howie completed the scoring. Gary White bagged four midweek against Riverside with Michael McGhie and Eddie McKeand both scoring twice and Allan Hunter, Sandy Bowie, Paul McCann Greg Walls, Shaun Kirk and Stevie Green all also on target. Aiden Montgomery and Blair Watson netted consolation goals for Riverside. Aiden Montgomery also scored on Sunday at Penpont as Riverside took Scaur to extra time but the home side ran out winners thanks to goals from Leigh Hyslop, Fergus Waugh, Corey Meechan, Drife Finlay and Sam Kelly, That victory made up for a midweek disappointment as despite a Ben Murphy double and Fergus Waugh strike Scaur were beaten at home by Morton Thistle, who had doubles from Ian Christine, Anton MacKay and Jamie Rae to give them victory. Dumfries Athletic then knocked Morton out of the cup at the weekend with a Corey Wells strike midway through the first half being enough to separate the sides, thanks to a strong performance from Dumfries keeper Martin Candler. That victory was just what Dumfries needed after heavy loss midweek despite Andy Linden and Thomas Cameron scoring at Normandy Star the home team had a Ryan Harper double, goals from Kenny Meader and Luke Broadhurst and a Robbie Simpson hat trick giving them the points. Normandy also recorded a big cup win at the weekend, Luke Broadhurst bagging a treble, Keiran Crosbie scoring twice and Kenny Meader, Robbie Simpson and Mark Carruthers all on the scoresheet against Ruthwell Rovers. Normandy will face Hole in the Wa in the second round after the Wa scored five without reply at Gretna, a Shaun Milligan hat trick and goals from Murray Thompson and Kris Shannon seeing them through, Five Arches Bombers are also in the second round after a hard fought 5-3 win over FC Annan. Graeme Maxwell also scored twice midweek as Five Arches edged out Hole in the Wa in the league, with Dale Talaszko scoring for the Wa. FC Annan picked up three points in a nine goal thriller at Gretna, with Cameron Irvine scoring three and Ian Cameron and Brady Irving on target with Kyle Jenkinson, Connor Carner, Callum Ogilvie and Corrie Bogg scoring for Gretna.
