AFC Gretna picked up their first points in the Sunday League, and they did it in style against defending champions Palmerston Colts in a pulsating, nine goal thriller. Gretna went two up with goals from Alistair Smith and Stephen Dickson but were reduced to ten men, with Colts seizing the advantage with goals from Jordan Jones and Aaron Callander levelling the game. Diogo Ferreira then put Gretna back in front and Stephen Jackson scored from almost half way to make it 4-2. Palmerston pulled another back with five to play through Ryan Kerr and Jordan Jones netted a free kick in stoppage time to seemingly rescue a point, but from the restart, and with the last kick of the game, Stephen Jackson took a shot and gave Gretna all three points. Gretna couldn't add to their tally at the weekend, and it was Ruthwell Rovers who put their first points on the board despite Kyle Jenkinson putting Gretna ahead, Ryan Power grabbed a hat trick to give Ruthwell the win to make up for their midweek defeat to Hole in the Wa. Jack Ball had put Ruthwell in front but Terry Jardine levelled from the penalty spot and Sean Milligan, Kris Shannon and Terry Traynor earned the points for the Wa. It was another good week for Terregles as they overcame a tricky trip to Scaur with John Howie netting twice, Gary White and Eddie McKeand scoring to give them the three points, and at the weekend they travelled to Annan Town recording a fine win to make progress in the league cup. Sean Dunbar did net for the home side but Bobby Green, Sandy Kennedy, Greg Walls, Steven Green, Allan Hunter, Sean Kirk, Paul McCann and Cammy Sinclair all scored to put Terregles through. That defeat came off the back of a fine midweek win for Annan where Sean Dunbar bagged a brace and Danny Lockerby, Greig Goodwin, Callum Laurie and Dean Gallimore all scored to see off Morton Thistle whose consolation came from Kris Clark. Dumfries Athletic hosted FC Annan on Sunday and were always in control. Callum Jess, Kieran Murray and Josh Kirkpatrick all scored before the interval. Stuart Smith reduced the arrears but Kieran Murray added three to his tally and Callum Jess got a second as Dumfries cruised to victory. FC Annan were also on the receiving end of 7 midweek as they hosted Five Arches Bombers, A Graeme Maxwell hat-trick and brace from David Bradbury along with goals for Max Barbour and Sam Copeland gave Bomber the points despite counters from Dion Irving, Martin McKeeman and Paul Bell for the home side.
