Big win for FC Annan


Performance of the weekend has to go to FC Annan, who have been struggling for results this season and travelled to play perennial winners Five Arches Bombers. Goals from Bradley James and Iain Cameron had FC Annan in control at the break. Bombers came out strongly second half and Graham Maxwell halved the deficit, but Corey Wells pounced to restore the cushion. Graham Maxwell scored again before Bradley James hi his second to make it 4-2. Duncan Smith converted a penalty as Bombers pressed to rescue the game but Annan held on for three valuable points. That result allowed Hole in the Wa to jump to second as they saw off Ruthwell Rovers. Adam Henderson opened the scoring after ten minutes and Marc Zutic added a second on twenty, with Callum Sloan pulling one back fro Ruthwell almost immediately but Adam Henderson restored the cushion just before half time. Kris Shannon made it four on the hour mark and Adam Henderson completed his hat trick five minutes later. Callum Sloan grabbed a late consolation for Rovers. Terregles seem to be on a relentless March to the title though, this week it was Scaur who were put to the sword with Allan Hunter and Cammy Sinclair scoring two each and Sandy Kennedy, Dougie Brotherston, Matty Gibson and Declan Ramage all netting in an 8-0 win. Finally Dumfries Athletic climbed another place in the table with a hard earned win over Riverside at St Joes. Andy Linden scored the only goal of the first half and Ewan McLellan added a second, Riverside did hot a late consolation but couldn't take anything from the game.
