Annan go to Town

Last week was a good week for Annan Town as they firstly earned a one nil win over Terregles Thanks to a Billy Sutherland goal, then on Sunday they hit double figures against Greystone With Dale Muir grabbing a hattrick and braces for Daniel Carey and Greig Goodwin, Billy Sutherland found the net again and Lewis Peacock also scored, with Chris Norval firing in a long range screamer.

Terregles bounced back with Cammy Sinclair and John Howie scoring in their draw with Palmerston Colts who had Arron Callander scoring from the spot and Darren Tait finding the net. That draw along with a midweek win over Threave thanks to Greig Lawrie, Greg Wilson and Jordan Williamson counters, kept Palmerston in third and undefeated. Threave also suffered a defeat on Sunday with Normandy Star hitting six. A header from Jordan Brown was added to by Luke Broadhurst then Chris Bailey. Substitute Scott Anderson bagged a double and Darren Cassidy also found the net. Luke Broadhurst and John Marshall were on target midweek for Normandy as they beat Dumfries Athletic, despite a late Andrew Linden goal. Andrew Linden carried his goalscoring form into Sunday as he scored five against Lochside Colts, With Alex Barron and Sam Rowe also scoring. Declan Roper had equalised for Lochside before Dumfries took control. It was two defeats in a week for Lochside, Jon Paul Skachill did score for them but league leaders Five Arches put them to the sword with a Jordan Barker double and Graham Kilpatrick. The Bombers then kept up their 100% start with a win over old rivals Hole in the Wa on Sunday. Graham Kilpatrick was on the scoresheet again and Greame Maxwell chipped in with a brace, Duncan Smith and Kris Shannon also netted as Quinn Rogerson replied for the Wa. Hole in the Wa had earned three points with a midweek win over FC Annan. Keiran Kenny scored twice and Chris Faulds was on target with replies coming from Shaun Bell and Jamie Robison. FC Annan then lost out by a single goal again as Ben Cook scored to give Ruthwell Rovers all three points on top of the midweek point they earned at Scaur as Luca Pagani cancelled out Craig Stitts goal. Scaur also picked up a weekend win with Robert McCormack scoring twice and Ben Murphy also on the scoresheet against Eastriggs.
