After a seventeen month enforced break the Sunday League was back with a bang. Champions Terregles picked up where they left off and gave new side Eastriggs a baptism of fire at the Northwest Campus, with Eddie Marshall and Dempsey Rowan both grabbing hat-tricks, Paul McCann also hit a double and Greg Alison and Allan Hunter also netted as they hit double figures without reply to send out a warning to the rest of the league.
Another new side Lochside Club hosted long serving Hole in the Wa and a very tight match was decided by a single Michael McGhie goal for the Wa. Greystone Rovers also made their league debut hosting Ruthwell Rovers in what turned out to be a cracking match. A Joseph Marshall brace for Greystone was a feat matched by Luca Pagani for Ruthwell, and Greystone had a penalty saved before Mark Leesing grabbed the winner for Ruthwell. The other debutants Threave Development hosted Annan Town and although they scored twice were edged out by a John Campbell double, Mikey Thomson and an own goal, with Campbell missing out on a hat trick as his penalty was saved. Scaur travelled to FC Annan and came back with all three points thanks to goals from Robert McCormack, Drife Finlay and Finlay Thomson as well as an own goal. Palmerston Colts and Dumfries played out a nine goal thriller at Holm Park. Arron Callandar put Colts ahead but Sam Rowe levelled before an Arron Callendar penalty put Palmerston 2-1 up at the break. Brad Henderson punished a defensive mistake to give Colts breathing space and Arron Callandar completed his hat trick with another penalty. Jordan Williamson made it 5-1 before Sam Rowe scored his, and Dumfries's second. Ross MacDonald added a sixth for Palmerston and Aaron Cowan wrapped up the scoring with an overhead kick for Dumfries. At Hospital Park a Chris Bailey header gave Normandy Star the early lead against Five Arches in a hotly contested match, It too til the second half for the equaliser with Tom McMahon drilling home from the edge of the box, and ten minutes from time Ali Queen scored a header to give Bombers the three points.
