Its good to be back!

Almost fifteen months after a ball was last kicked competitively the Dumfries Sunday League returns to action with a jam packed fixture card. Four new clubs have joined to take the league up to 14 teams who will play home and away in a mouth-watering Premier Division. Terregles were crowned league champions with a 100% record when Covid ended 2019/20, and they are sure to be looking to retain that title in a completed season, as well as adding some cups to their haul. Five Arches Bombers were the closest challengers to Terregles and had won the league cup, despite some rebuilding they are sure to be in the mix again, and TPS trophy winners Home in the Wa are also a team in transition but sure to be in the battle for honours. club have had some good friendly results and will certainly be looing to spring some shocks in their debut season, while Threave and Greystone step into the Amateur league with strong Youth league pedigrees so are sure to be no easy touch. Eastriggs are a name synonymous with Amateur football and its good to see them back as they look to establish themselves in the league. They will be representing the East along with two Annan sides, Annan Town who are no strangers to success and FC Annan who bring an exciting brand of football to the league, as well as Ruthwell Rovers, who have moved to Lockerbie and are impressing in pre season. Scaur as one of the league longest serving sides are always dark horses and sure to be in and amongst the battle for silverware. While Normandy Star have continued to tick over quietly, having fought back from difficult times to push themselves into challenging. Finally Dumfries Athletic another side who have vast Sunday League experience, which they hope will serve them well as they look to challenge at the top end of the table.
