Lochside make a point

Annan Town are within touching distance of the league title as they picked up another three points at Eastriggs with a John Campbell brace and goals from Corey Bell, Lewis Peacock, Daniel Carey and Mikey Thomson, extending their lead to 14 points as Palmerston Colts battled to a draw with Lochside Club. Darren Watson scored from the spot and Ben Louden netted twice, while Dylan Haining, Ryan Melvin and Diesel Ferguson were the scorers for Lochside. Ruthwell Rovers continue to fly high and moved up to third despite going behind to Dumfries Athletic after an Andy Linden strike but a Robbie McIllwraith hattrick and goals from Jack Ball and Owen Brown turned things round. In what is always a cracker, Five Arches Bombers slipped two places after a loss to Hole in the Wa. An early Lee True free kick put the Wa in front but an Own goal levelled the game before Kieron Kenny had the Wa ahead again, and he made it three from the penalty spot. Graeme Maxwell reduced the arrears but the equaliser didn't come and a late Sean Peat effort wrapped up the win for Wa. Terregles also took advantage of the Bombers loss by beating Greystone to climb to fourth. Sandy Kennedy, Axl Menlove and John Howie were the scorers with Josh McVinnie replying for Rovers.

There were a couple of entertaining matches in the bottom half too, with Jonny Riddick giving Normandy Star the lead against FC Annan before Bradley James levelled from distance in an end to end game, a towering header from Chris Bailey gave Star three important points though. Up at Penpont Threave Development found themselves five up before a spirited fight back from the home team with a double from Josh Watson and Shane Saunders scoring but there wasn't enough time to complete the comeback.
