Wa bang on form

The TPS Trophy kicked off on Sunday and Hole in the Wa cruised into the semi finals with their best result of the season, and eight nil win over a Greystone Rovers side who had looked to have found a bit of form. Michael McGhie opened the scoring on the half hour and Kieran Kenny converted a penalty on the stroke of half time and grabbed his second just after the break. Sean Peat headed the first of his brace sandwiching a Chris Cloy strike and Davy Paterson added a late eighth. In the Annan derby it was Town who came out on top with Liam Grimley scoring and Mikey Thomson and Dean Gallimore bagging braces while Callum Grieve also hit a double for FC Annan. Eastriggs played their first home match of the season on their newly refurbished park, but Dumfries Athletic spoiled the party with Cain McKie opening the scoring. Michael Porter did level for the home team but Andy Linden, Corey Wells from the spot and an Alex Barron free kick sent Dumfries through despite a late consolation for Aaron Cordley. Ruthwell Rovers were in devastating form to see off Lochside Club, Owen Brown and Luca Pagani both grabbed hattricks, Logan Dixon scored twice and Aidan Wallace also netted with Dylan Haining on target for Lochside.

Five Arches Bombers eased past Normandy Star in a seven goal cracker. Ryan Harper had Normandy ahead but Greame Maxwell scored twice for Bombers, Ben Gillon levelled the tie before Jordan Barker edged the Bombers ahead again. Scott Anderson then equalised again before Russel Handley put Bombers back in front and Normandy missed a penalty. Another cracking tie at NWCC saw Aaron Callandar fire Palmerston Colts ahead before a late Terregles rally with Dempsey Rowan and Eddie Marshall sending them through.
