After a disappointing opening day defeat Normandy were determined to get their season started but know from experience that Riverside are tough opponents. Normandy returned to their high tempo pressing game and forced Riverside on the back foot and after 8 minutes Dougie played a ball to Robbie who saw his shot come back off the underside of the bar. Riverside were content to allow Normandy to press and pick them off on the counter but the Normandy pressure paid off when Robbie went clear and rounded the keeper to open the scoring. The second came on 20 minutes as Dougie laid a ball to Dean who curled an effort in off the far post and before the half hour a corner was forced home by Kenny for a 3.0 lead. Just on half time Dougie completed a hat trick of assists as he fed Robbie to slide past the keeper. Ten minutes into the second half Ryan played a cross-field ball to Gadget who scored at the second attempt and 15 minutes later Gadget again went clear, his shot was saved but Luke followed up to net against his former side. With ten minutes to play Arran lifted a ball over the defence and Luke smashed home on the half volley. There was time for an eighth before the final.whistle as Tyler played a long ball from defence to send Harper clear, and he rounded the keeper to roll home and complete a fine win.
