It was a vital match at Maryfield with both sides in need of a win to kickstart disappointing seasons. Dumfries were looking to close the gap on Normandy and begin the climb up the table and they looked the livelier in the first half without creating any real chances. Normandy were looking to force the openings and did have a great chance after half an hour when Jamie Simpson delivered a free kick into the box but John's flick was well held by the keeper. Just before half time Dumfries opened the scoring as a corner was half cleared but headed back in and the striker smashed home inside the six yard box. Normandy settled better in the second half and began to find a rhythm,, and they deservedly levelled on 67 minutes when Nik was sent clear down the right and his low cross was met by Jamie Rae. Within a minute the two swapped roles as Jamie played in Nik who remained calm one on one to put Normandy ahead. A frantic last 20 ensued with Dumfries trying to rescue the match but Normandy holding on to all three points.
