After a seven week break Normandy got back to league action with the short trip to Holm Park to face Five Arches Bombers. A tough task was made all the more difficult having lost top scorer Ryan Harper and influential midfielder Ben Gillon to Nithsdale Wanderers, but a bright start saw a glorious opportunity to go in front with Lewis firing just wide from a corner. The two sides were well matched for the first half hour, with Normandy working hard on and off the ball. Bombers did have a couple of chances in front of goal with two headers which went over the bar. Five minutes before half time a through ball found the Bombers striker and he took a touch and finished coolly with the Normandy backline looking for an offside call which never came. As the game restarted the discussion continued and an indirect free kick for dissent was awarded on the edge of the box, which lead to a corner that was flicked into the net for a second goal. The second half started with Normandy on the front foot and Nik was played in down the left but his shot was tipped over. The corner was cleared at the back post and Bombers broke away, the striker was one on one and Rab made a good save but could do nothing about the follow-up. Normandy continued to press and created several chances but found the Bombers keeper in fine form and the game ended in a 3.0 defeat, though there were a lot of positives to take from the performance.
