Normandy lost to FC Annan on the opening day of the season and were looking to avenge that result. A bright start saw Luke and Jerzy both have chances to open the scoring in the first minute, but the opener did come in the fourth minute, as Luke crossed from the right, the defender headed out but Ben met the clearance on the volley and the ball rifled past the keeper high into the net. The second came on ten minutes a high ball into the box was flicked on and Harper controlled and finished. It was 3 on 13 minutes with Jerzy crossing from the right, Luke saw his shot saved but Harper reacted quickest to poke home the rebound. Annan pulled one back almost immediately with a stunning long range strike from Jimmy Reid. Normandy added their fourth just before the half hour as a corner was headed into the 6 yard box by Jamie and Luke smashed it in. Annan then got a second from the spot before Ben hit a 20 yard daisy cutter in off the post to make it 5.2 at half time. The second half saw plenty of goallmouth action but no further scoring, Malcolm McEwan in the Annan goal proving difficult to beat and in the 71st minute pulling off a stunning double save to deny Jerzy first from a point blank header then somehow getting a touch to stop him netting the rebound.
