Clarencefield is always a tricky place to go and the wet weather and heavy pitch weren't going to help. Normandy made a blistering start with Luke crossing for Harper to score after only two minutes, then a 50 yard pass from Ben set Luke free on the inside left and he lashed home to make it two with only 6 minutes played. Ruthwell pulled one back within a minute with a back pass holding up on the heavy surface allowing the rovers forward to nip in and square for his strike partner to score. Normandy had the ball in the net again but it was ruled offside, then they were forced into a substitution as Rab was forced off with a head knock. With 44 minutes on the clock Luke collected the ball in the box, spun his defender and made it three, then a couple of minutes later he completed his hat trick whipping a free kick from the left wing over the keeper. More stoppage time drama with Ruthwell reduced to ten men for a second yellow and Kenny saw his free kick tipped over the bar. Credit to Ruthwell who came out second half and threw everything at Normandy, an early free kick smashed into the box was flicked on and squirmed through Grant's arms to make it 4.2 and on 54 minutes a corner wasnt cleared and the striker poked in for 4.3. Normandy regained composure though and began to make the extra man count as they kept possession, then in the 63rd minute Harper was sent clear, rounded the keeper and the defenders attempt to clear hit off Harper and ended up in the net. With ten minutes to play Normandy were awarded a free kick 40 yards from goal and Jamie stepped up to drive it into the net. Normandy had another disallowed goal late on but came away with three hard earned points.
