Lorebun Thistle 8 Park Thistle 3
After last weeks tight cup tie another close match was expected but a blistering start from Loreburn saw Rees Brown force an error in the defence and score in the opening minute. Loreburn had their tails up and threw everything at Park, with the second goal coming after 13 minutes in a carbon copy of the first. Five minutes later though Robbie Simpson waltzed past three defenders and rounded the keeper to half the deficit. Hopes of a comeback were dashed with two Loreburn goals either side of the half hour mark and a fifth from the penalty spot had Loreburn cruising by half time. A brighter start to the second period saw Parks hopes raised but a sucker punch sixth goal killed any hopes. Park did get a second in the hour mark as Owen Huxham crossed for Dougie Rae to fire in off the post but Park couldn't get a foothold in the game and as they tired Rees Brown added two more for Loreburn in the last ten minutes. Final word went to Park with Dougie Rae smashing home his second for scant consolation.
