Queens Bar 3 Park Thistle 4
Park went into this match knowing anything less than a win would virtually end their promotion chance as we hit the half way point of the season. Despite starting brightly Park went behind after six minutes as Queens broke down the right and the ball across the box was touched past his own keeper by Cole Rogerson. The game was level on 18 minutes though as Cole threw a free kick into the box and Chris Bailey squared to Dougie Rae whose shot was saved but the ball rebounded off an unfortunate defender and into the net. A very even first half Queens create the clearer chances and Kriss Lismanis making some fine saves to keep the score level. On 51 minutes Queens broke down the right and the ball to the back post was tapped in, within a couple of minutes the score was level again as Tyler Jamieson battled down the left and the ball broke to Bailey to smash into the net. Just after the hour mark Park went ahead for the first time as Quinn Rogerson burst down the right and played a ball to the back post for Jamie Simpson to slide home. It only took a couple of minutes for Queens to get the equaliser as Park failed to clear and the striker was unmarked in the middle to level the game for the third time. Park made a treble substitution which paid off almost immediately as Robbie Simpson found space on the left to curl a shot into the top corner and make it 4.3. Queens pushed to try and rescue a point but park continued to look dangerous. On 85 minutes Kriss had to produce a smart fingertip save to push a header over the bar. The win puts Park level with Queens Bar and only a point behind joint leaders FC Annan and Summerhill.
