Ruthwell Rovers 2 Park Thistle 3
Ruthwell Rovers 2 Park Thistle 3 Park visited Clarencefield looking to avenge a narrow defeat in Dumfries a few weeks ago, but Ruthwell were high in confidence with back to back wins. The match started with the sides feeling eachother out and chances at a premium. Ruthwell did edge ahead when a free kick whipped in from the left wasn't cleared and the striker forced home. There was little to choose between the sides in the first half and both keepers dealt with the rare threats they faced. 8 minutes into the second half the score was level as Cole Rogerson hit a free kick from his own half which deceived the keeper, hot the post and was poked home by Chris Bailey. 8 minutes later Ruthwell went ahead again from the spot after Cole mistimed a tackle in the box and earned himself a yellow. Five minutes later Cole picked up a second yellow and left Park with an uphill task. Despite the numerical disadvantage Park tried to salvage the match and when Jonny Roome headed home a Quinn Rogerson corner with ten minutes to play they looked to have earned a point. Ruthwell did push toward to win the match but Park weren't content with a point and in the 90th minute Bailey was played in down the left and his cross was met by Adnan Dogrultan to put Thistle in front for the first time in the match. Bailey also hit the post in stoppage time as Park earned a vital win.
