FC Annan 6 Park Thistle 7

FC Annan 6 Park Thistle 7 The match started fairly evenly, with Park perhaps having the better of the chances, and on the quarter hour mark opening the scoring with Jordan Gilmour beating his man on the left wing and firing home from an acute angle. Annan were passing the ball well and levelled the match ten minutes later, then goals on the 34th, 35th and 36th minute had Annan cruising. Park rallied from that frenzy of goals and 5 minutes from half time the Annan defender and keeper collided under a looping cross and the ball landed at the feet of Quinn Rogerson who smashed home to make it 4-2. Park continued to look for a way back into the game but Annan looked reasonably comfortable and in the 70th minute the ball was played across goal for a tap in to give them breathing space. With less than ten minutes to play the Annan striker appeared to control the ball with his hand to get one on one and make it 6-2; which should have killed the game but the handball seemed to rile Thistle and Jordan Gilmour smashed in a third with 5 minutes left and when Laurie Reid burst down the right a couple of minutes later to cross for Robbie Simpson to add a fourth Park tails were up. Time was running out but Jordan Gilmour completed his hat trick to make it 6-5 and Park sensed they could rescue a point, which they duly seemed to have done as Gilfrog bagged his fourth of the match to equalise. In stoppage time Annan had a penalty claim but had to settle for a corner, which almost gave them the winner but Andy Baird cleared off the line and set up a counter which saw Robbie Simpson round the goalkeeper and slot home an unlikely winner to send Park into raptures!
