Park Thistle 3 Dumfries Athletic 1
Park were looking to build on their dramatic win last weekend but another slow start saw them fall behind after 3 minutes, when a corner was only half cleared and the resulting shot was spilled at the feet of the Dumfries player to smash home. Park roared back though and Robbie Simpson converted a penalty 2 minutes later. The two sides cancelled each other out for large parts of the first half, with Dumfries almost retaking the lead but the effort crashed off the post and the crossbar before being cleared. With the interval approaching Robbie was played in on goal and beat the keeper to put Park ahead. The second half was also hotly contested with some strong challenges coming in and the referee had his work cut out. Dumfries were again denied by the woodwork from a corner and Owen Huxham saw his effort crash back off the bar before Robbie wrapped up the points and completed his hat trick, picking up the ball on the half way line from a throw in and running past two defenders before finishing coolly to lift Park to third in the table.
