Five Arches Bombers 3 Park Thistle 0
It was a top of the table clash as Park looked to bounce back from last weekends hefty defeat, they knew they would have to be at their best against the unbeaten league leaders. The Bombers looked to take control early as they dominated possession and waited for a way through, it only took five minutes to breach the Thistle rearguard as the Park defender misjudged the bounce and the ball made its way to the Five Arches striker who drove the ball under the despairing dive of Lee Astley. Park settled and seemed content to allow the Bombers the possession as the ball was passed around at the back and in midfield awaiting the opening. Chances were at a premium and Park were struggling to make any impact but it took until the 23rd minute for Bombers to double their lead, a cross from the left eluding the entire defence before being driven back across goal for a clinical finish. Five Arches continued to look comfortable and have the majority of play without displaying any urgency and Park huffed and puffed but were generally chasing shadows. The match was resembling a chess game as Park were restricted to half chances to get themselves back in the game and the Bombers seemed content that the points were safe, with the third goal on 51 minutes really killing the match as a contest.
