Dumfries Athletic 3 Park Thistle 2
Second placed Park faced third placed Dumfries in what was guaranteed to be a ding dong affair. Dumfries thought they had opened the scoring inside a minute but Liam Watsons goal bound effort was too weak and was stopped on the line. Park settled and came more into the match and on ten minutes Quinn Rogerson lifted a cross into the six yard box which Dougie Rae controlled and smashed home. Dougie grabbed his second 5 minutes later as he turned on the edge of the box and a deflection helped his shot loop over the keeper. Park could have extended their lead as Nik Lismanis netted only to have it chalked off for a debatable offside call and despite late Dumfries pressure it was 2-0 Park at the interval. Dumfries stepped up a gear after the break and really got in Park faces. They reduced the deficit in the 58th minute as a cross was only partially cleared and the ball fired back in for Liam Watson to turn home almost on the goal line. The equaliser came barely 5 minutes later as a corner was again not cleared and the striker lashed home from the edge of the box. The game was firmly in the balance and either side could have won it as the chances came and went. It was Dumfries though who took the spoils as Alan Milligan bulldozed through the middle and fed the striker for the winning goal to drop Park to third.
