Park Thistle 2 Five Arches Bombers 6

Park needed to get back to winning ways if they are to keep their play off hopes alive but Bombers were looking to maintain their 100% record and wrap up promotion as soon as possible. Park has the dream start as Jamie Simpson launched a kick down the right wing to Robbie Simpson who cut inside and fired home the opener. The game was level on the quarter hour as a long range shot was parried and the striker reacted quickest to poke home. Park were holding their own against the leaders as both sides probed, but on 32 minutes a ball was played across the box and with Park looking for offside Cairn Jamieson tried to get a last ditch tackle in from behind the striker which saw the ref point to the spot, and the penalty was duly dispatched. As half time approached Park suffered a hammer blow as a free kick was swung in deep and headed home at the back post. Park gave themselves hope after the break as Nik Lismanis fed Robbie down the left wing, and he played in Dougie Rae who finished coolly. That hope was extinguished ten minutes later as a fine strike from the box restored Bombers two goal advantage. With ten minutes left Park could have got back in the match but a fine save and then the post denied them a third goal. Bombers finished strongly and two goals in the last five minutes sealed the victory.
