Park Thistle 4 Ruthwell Rovers 3

Park were looking to avenge a defeat at Clarencefield a few weeks ago but it was Ruthwell who started with more intent, without really threatening to score. Park worked their way into the match and the first real effort on goal saw Jamie Simpsons header pushed onto the bar on ten minutes. Five minutes later Jamie did find the net as Quinn Rogerson played the ball out right and Jamie lashed home the opener. Ruthwell levelled ten minutes later as a ball over the top beat the defence and the striker lobbed the onrushing keeper. There was little to get excited about in the first half and five minutes before the break Parks luck was summed up as Ruthwell grabbed the lead with a similar goal to their first. Park improved second half but the equaliser was a fortunate one as Robbie Simpsons corner was knocked into his own net by an unlucky defender. A couple of minutes later Park were back in front, this time Robbie weaving his way from inside his own half to score and on the hour mark he got his second as his free kick was spilled into the net by the Ruthwell keeper. Ruthwell came back again and made it 4-3 with twenty minutes to play with a neat passing move. The game was on a knife edge and could have gone either way but the game fizzled out as Park hung on to the three points.
