Scaur 7 Park Thistle 1

Park travelled to Penpont on Thursday night looking to upset a Premier side to progress in the cup while Scaur needed a win to stay in the hunt. A tentative start saw the first effort from the right wing acrobatically saved by Nik Lismanis on ten minutes. The first sight at goal for Park came on 16 minutes as Robbie Simpson turned in the box and tested the keeper. Five minutes later Park were ahead as Cairn Jamieson picked up a loose ball in midfield and his long range shot was misjudged by the keeper. The lead only lasted two minutes though as a mix up in the Park defence allowed Scaur in to level. Park could have gone ahead again on the half hour as the keepers kick was intercepted by Robbie but his shot went agonisingly wide of the post and Quinn Rogerson had a header well saved by the keeper which led to Scaur breaking down the right and the ball cut back for them to take the lead in 32 minutes, with a carbon copy goal five minutes later giving Scaur the advantage at half time. An early second half goal from long range sealed the win for Scaur and they on to score three more with a free kick on the hour mark, close range effort on 82 minutes and a header two minutes from time. Park move on to Sunday needing a win against Annan Town to have any hopes of making the quarter finals.
